About

the standard biography:

Location, location. Born at the edge of a river in 1982. Shy, but somehow overly self-confident. Grew up in the sub-Arctic (that would be Yellowknife). Spent a year following bands in the UK and traveling to random European countries as part of a post-secondary “education.” Found an American girl that was good enough to marry. Journeyed to Morocco and Corsica with her before tying the knot in Reykjavik. Took in some cats and named one of them after a Finnish hockey player.

Got a job. Quit the job. Went back to school and ended up writing about the politics of Soviet/Russian hockey in the context of modern migrant athletes. Caught on with the university hockey team. Made some connections through the team and through my research. Made some connections by driving down to introduce myself.
