There’s no real point in having this section, but all websites have one right? So here goes!
1. why do you use three names?
Well, first of all, I do and I don’t. You can just call me “Paul.” However, when I write out my full name, I use all three. Why? I’d like to say it was to avoid confusion with certain other individuals (drummer for the Sex Pistols, California politician …and for the record, I’m not this guy), but the only true reason is that I don’t like how it looks without the middle name – somehow incomplete. Besides, what’s the point in having a middle name if you’re not going to use it?
2. why the need for your own website?
For the sake of argument, type your name in the address bar of your browser, followed by .com. Is there a website there? Is it yours? That’s my perspective. It’s about securing my identity on the internet.
3. what was it like living up North?
I imagine Yellowknife is like a lot of other small towns, except maybe a little colder. Great, but no so great at the same time. Definitely one of the benefits was being able to mountain bike along snowmobile paths; an endless forest was about 200 yards from my house. Of course, it’s a little isolated, too – trips to the “big city” require an $800 plane ticket, so they were outside of the means of most teenagers.
4. how did you come across the quote at the bottom of this page?
One of the books I’m currently (December 2007) reading is “Road to Olympus” by Tarasov. He was charged with developing, from scratch, the Russian hockey program in 1946. As coach of the Soviet national team, he won 9 straight world championships.
